What is the JSNA and who is it for? The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) identifies the key health and wellbeing needs of the population within the county. It is the place people go to get information and intelligence to support decision making. The JSNA focuses on evidence of need, evidence of what works and feedback from residents about what is important to them. You can influence what it contains.

Did you know? In East Northamptonshire deaths from road traffic accidents are significantly higher than England’s average There were 5000 referrals to children’s social care services in the year ending 31 March 2011, an increase on the previous year It is predicted that almost 1 in 5 of the county’s population will be 65 or over by 2020 The number of adults classed as high risk drinkers is high in South Northamptonshire The rate of working age people with no qualifications in Kettering, Northampton and Wellingborough is high The emergency hospital admission rate for people under 35 years for assault is significantly worse in Corby than the England average There are an estimated 9,746 children aged between 11 and 16 in the county with any mental health disorder Young people aged 16-24 in Wellingborough are twice as likely to be unemployed compared to the county average The rate of homeless households in Northampton is significantly higher than England’s rate 21% of children in Northampton live in poverty In Corby more than 35% of people over 16 smoke
