  3. HERA ERA DIOSA DEL MATRIMONIO, DE LAS MUJERES CASADAS Y DE LAS PARTURIENTAS. HERA PARTICIPÓ CON AFRODITA Y ATENEA EN EL LLAMADO “JUICIO DE PARIS”, PARA CONSEGUIR LA MANZANA DE ORO OFRECIDA POR ERIS PARA LA DIOSA MÁS HERMOSA. 3

  4. HERA ERA UNA DIOSA CELOSA Y VENGATIVA, QUE PERSIGUIÓ A LAS AMANTES DE ZEUS Y A SUS HIJOS: HERACLES REALIZÓ LOS 12 TRABAJOS. SÉMELE, MADRE DE DIONISO, MUERE CARBONIZADA POR LOS RAYOS DE ZEUS, AL PRESENTARSE ANTE ELLA CON TODO SU ESPLENDOR. 4

  5. HERA PIDIÓ A ZEUS LA VACA, EN QUE HABÍA CONVERTIDO A SU AMANTE ÍO, PARA NO SER DESCUBIERTA. HERA PUSO COMO GUARDIÁNA ARGOS, GIGANTE DE 100 OJOS. ZEUS MANDÓ A HERMES, PARA QUE LO DURMIERA CONTANDO HISTORIAS Y LO MATARA. HERAESPARCIÓ LOS OJOS DE ARGOS EN LA COLA DEL PAVO REAL Y ENVIÓ UNA AVISPA PARA QUE PICARA A LA VACA. 5

  6. HERA SE LLAMA EN ROMA JUNO Y FORMA LA TRÍADA CAPITOLINA CON JÚPITER Y MINERVA. 6

  7. HERA SE REPRESENTA CON UNA TÚNICA LARGA Y UNA DIADEMA EN LA FRENTE. LLEVA EN LAS MANOS UN CETRO DE ORO Y UNA GRANADA, SÍMBOLO DE LA FECUNDIDAD. UN PAVO REAL APARECE A SUS PIES. LE ACOMPAÑA SU HIJA IRIS, MENSAJERA DE LOS DIOSES. 7
