Malthus • You have two kinds of people: farmers and laborers. • Every round, you make the following moves: • Farm: Roll one die for each farmer. On a 1 or 2, it produces 1 food; on a 3 or 4, it produces 2; on a 5 or 6, it produces 3. • Check: See if you produced enough food for all of your people. Each person requires one food. If you did not, some of your people (your choice) have to die. • Industry: Take one coin for each laborer. • Reproduce: Roll one die for each farmer and laborer. On a 1 or 2, nothing happens; on a 3 or 4, it makes one new person; on a 5 or 6, it makes 2 new people. • Surplus: If your farmers produce more food than you eat, take one little shiny stone thing for each extra food. You may keep it for one turn to feed people next round. • Late Capitalism: After three rounds, you can purchase food from other states for any negotiated cost. • The end goal: Make as much money as possible.
