Municipality of Florence • Strong experience of activity with schools, youth associations, and leisure centres in the past years in creating networks and promoting best practises, thanks to the intense activity of Europe Direct Firenze. One of the aims for future work is to create more networks between the sectors of schools and leisure and strengthen their cooperation with the focus on improving the services and provide new opportunities for children and young people in terms of formal and informal education.

Sassetti Peruzzi” Secondary School • Trade and Tourism service • A large proportion of students from the school “Sassetti – Peruzzi” comes from foreign Countries and therefore the themes of the project play an important role in the normal process of reception and integration at school and into our society.

  5. Sassetti Peruzzi” Secondary School Its role in the project: Involvement of 3 classes and its teachers

  6. “G. Peano” Secondary School • Linguistic area and economic area. • Students of both branches study law and political Institutions so that their participation in the project has a grate value to develop the themes proposed and create the proper awareness of European citizenship. Teachers of law, languages and history will help and monitor the groups during their work and will spread the results.

USR Toscana Regional School office of the Ministry of Education, University and Research The functions of the Regional School Office are, in particular: • monitors compliance with the general rules for education and the level of effectiveness of the training; • ensures the implementation of national policies for students; • integrates its activity with the activities of municipalities, provinces and the region and relations with these authorities, to the extent applicable state for the offer integrated training, adult education and vocational education and technical training and the relationship between school and work; • supervises the non-state schools and foreign schools in Italy; • gives grants to educational institutions the financial and human resources; • checks and monitors to detect the efficiency of educational institutions and to assess the degree of implementation of the plan for the provision of training;

  9. USR Toscana Its role in the project: Coordination of the schools involved in the project (in the organizational and didactical activity) Dissemination of the results and methodologies among the other schools

  10. Sharing Europe • Sharing Europe is an association created by a group of communicators and professionals involved in European field. It's a non profit organization which develops activities for and with young and adult people, such as cultural and educational initiatives at local and European level.

  11. Sharing Europe Its role in the project: • Thanks to its experience in web communication, web 2.0, social network, web writng, it will play an important role in the dissemination and communication acitivities (web radio broadcastings, blog and web site, social network, videos, photos, etc.)

  15. they often do not use their IT skills for their active participation or the open dialoge • they do not know to have and know an important instrument

  17. Methodology • Photovoice: a participatory action research strategy by which people create and discuss photographs as a mean of catalyzing personal and community change.

  18. Activities • Laboratories (in 2 schools – 3 classes of each school) Jan – Apr 2013 – on specific keywords E-democracy Parties Sustainability Active Participation Constitution Citizenship Elections Accountability

  19. B-Log of the laboratories Each class – developing one keyword – will update a section of the blog, throught posts, photos, videos, etc.
