Desktop Publishing with MS Word Making Information Available to the World with HTML and Web Pages Presentation of Information with MS PowerPoint Computational Thinking Information Technology, or IT, is the study of computers and their purpose of storing and using information. For a psychology major like myself, IT is extremely useful in studies of the human mind. Microsoft Powerpoint is a useful tool for creating charts and large visual displays of information. Powerpoint allows one to make a boring presentation more interesting. Microsoft Word can be used to create various types of files that can be published online, including html and pdf files. Using HTML, various aspects of a webpage can be altered for functionality as well as aesthetic value. Amber’s CSE3 Poster Data Analysis and Visualization with MS Excel Dynamic Webpage Programming with JavaScript Visual Programming with Alice Many companies utilize MS Excel to compute business costs, create visual graphs of data, and organize their work. Excel has many functions and is highly useful. JavaScript is a great tool for allowing the user to interact and apply inputs to the webpage of choice. Alice allows users to easily create and animate worlds. It’s fun, simple, and addicting.
