  3. Line is the strongest and most important of the elements. Without line there can beno picture. Lines can be vertical, horizontal, diagonal, or curved. Lines can be short or tall, can be thick or thin Line

  4. Tone

  5. Tone mainly consist of shadings from white-to-gray-to-black. It can also consist of darks against lights with little or no grays. Light against dark shades in varying degrees helps to set the mood. Tone

  6. Color

  7. Coloris characterized by attributes such as value, hue, and saturation. Differentcolorscan send out different messages,reds, orangesandyellowsare warm colorsandblue, purplesandgreenare cool colors. Color

  9. When taking a picture to show texture its best to use a side light. If taking a picture outside the best time of day would be early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Texture in a picture shows how the feel of the object in the picture. Texture

  11. For a shape to be successfully identifiable, it needs to be in strong contrast with its surroundings so that it is detached from the clutter around it. Shape

  13. Form is a three-dimensional shape. By side lighting it casts soft elegant shadows. Form
