OSAP • Deadline: within 45 days of starting your post-secondary program • Receive half of $ at the start and remainder halfway through the school year • Repayments starts 6 months after graduation. The Ontario portion of this loan is interest free during this 6 month period.
When Can I Apply ? OSAP is financial assistance provided by the government. You can start the application on-line at www.osap.gov.on.ca. However, you need to wait until you have accepted an offer from a college or university and have a student # from that school in order to complete your application. If not you may have to resubmit another application. NOTE:The 2014 Application has not been activated yet. Be careful not to start the 2013 Application!
Am I Eligible? OSAP loans are based on family income and assets and funds received may be limited or non-existent.
30% Off Ontario Tuition • Money you don't have to repay for students entering a public college or university from high school. • $1730 for university and college degree students • $790 for college diploma and certificate students
Am I Eligible? • you’re a full-time student at a public college, university or private postsecondary school in Ontario approved for OSAP • you’re in a program you can apply to directly from high school (e.g., undergraduate level) • you meet the citizenship and residency requirements • your parents’ gross income (total before taxes) is $160,000 or less
Applying For 30% Off Tuition? If applying for OSAP, you will automatically be considered Log in to OSAP to check your status and: • find out if you’re approved • see if there are things that still have to be done • get details on your grant
Not Applying For OSAP? You’ll need to get started: • your Social Insurance Number • your parent(s) Social Insurance Number(s) • the amount of your parent(s) 2013 tax return(s) • information about your parent(s)’ total gross income
Apply Online: http://www.ontario.ca/education-and-training/30-off-ontario-tuition • register as a new online user or use your current OSAP Access Number and password to log in • complete and submit the online application
BANKS • Banks are another great avenue to explore for student loans and student line of credit, however their interest rates are much higher than OSAP.
