Review • We have: • Discussed the various problems we may experience on our Web sites • Recognised that problems can now affect mission-critical services • Looked at various testing tools and procedures • Discovered that tools may have limitations • Identified the limitations of testing and QC • Outlined the need for QA – documented policies and systematic compliance procedures How do we ensure that we embed QA in our working practices?

QA Is Mandated • We may find that funding bodies mandate projects to implement QA procedures • This is happening for JISC programmes • This helps JISC to: • Ensure value for money for its funding • Protect public investment • Help to ensure that project deliverables are interoperable with (a) other projects and (b) other programmes Compliance with eGIF may require QA implementation Compliance with accessibility legislation may require implementation of QA (cf. organisations must take ‘reasonable measures’
