SAILOR 639x Navtex Product Presentation
Navtex - In Short • Navtex is an acronym for Navigational Telex • The Navtex system consists of several coast stations transmitting Navigational, Meteorological, Search & Rescue, ice warnings etc. on predetermined frequencies in predetermined time slots • The coast stations transmit at very high power and at medium frequency - the range is quite long • the world has been divided into different navigational areas (Navareas) • For reception of Navtex messages in e.g. Danish waters, ‘Navarea I’ should be chosen – See next slide
Navtex – In Short • The Navtex system consists of a total of three global frequencies: • 518 kHz – International Navtex messages (MUST listen) • 490 kHz – National Navtex messages (national language) • 4209.5 kHz – National Navtex messages (national language) • A GMDSS approved Navtex receiver must listen to at least two frequencies at the same time – one must always be 518 kHz.
SAILOR 639x Navtex - Regulations • The SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver is approved for use on board SOLAS vessels for compliance to the carriage requirements listed in the convention for Safety of Life at Sea 1974, as amended. • The SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver is approved to be in compliance to the IMO performance standards for NAVTEX receiver: Resolution MSC 148(77), MSC 36(63) (HSC Code), MSC 97(73) (HSC Code), and A.694(17) • SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver is approved to MED 2012/32/EU and complies to the requirements in the following standards: • IEC-60945 (2002), IEC-60945 Corrigendum 1 (2008), IEC-61097-6 (2005-12), IEC-61162-1 (2010-11) (aligned with NMEA 0183 version 4.00), ITU-T X.27/V.11 (1996) • The SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver is approved to SOLAS Regulations IV/7, IV/14: ITU-R M.540-2 (06/90) and ITU-R M.625-3 (10/95). • The SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver is approved to FCC Equipment class: RNV, Part 80 NAVTEX Receiver 80.1101(c)(1).
SAILOR 6391 Navtex System • The SAILOR 6391 Navtex System (406391A-00500) is a system combining two SAILOR units: SAILOR 6390 NavtexReceiver SAILOR 6004 Control Panel • With its LAN interface the Navtexreceiver and the display can be separated, giving access to the Navtex information available where it is needed. • The operation is done using the SAILOR 6004 Control Panel. In principle the user interface is an “APP”, running on the touch display. By activating the Navtex icon on the touch display, the user can interact with the system.
SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver • The SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver (406390A-00500) is a Stand alone “Black Box” only: SAILOR 6390 NavtexReceiver • The “black box” (SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver) receiver can be used as a standalone unit for integration to an INS, supporting IEC 61162-1 (NMEA0183) or LAN
SAILOR 6391 Navtex System SAILOR 6390 Navtex SOLAS NAVTEX Interface through SAILOR 6004 Control Panel or INS Black Box transceiver for easy installation SAILOR 6204 Control Panel Generic 7” Touch screen Interface to SAILOR 6390 Navtex ThraneLINKinterface
Unique Selling Points • “Black Box” Navtex receiver controlled over LAN either from SAILOR 6004 Control Panel or from an external device (e.g. ECDIS) • NMEA interface for INS connection • 2000 messages per frequency, giving a total of 6000 messages • Printing via SAILOR 6004 Control Panel and 3rd party line printer over LAN • Integrated Navtex “app” for touch screen - SAILOR 6004 Control Panel • Low and high impedance antenna switch • Dual LAN connector • TMA (Thrane Management Application) for software upgrade • Easy Service – Both directly on the unit and through the TMA • Prepared for 500 kHz NAVDAT (Software updatable) • Easy installation • Build in self test • Prepared for the use of multifunction displays
SAILOR 639x Navtex – Type Approvals Full “Wheelmark” - MED-B: In house at launch FCC - Will follow shortly CCS- Will follow shortly Russian approvals - Will follow shortly Other local Type approvals will follow Note: The New SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver is approved according to IEC standards
SAILOR Navtex - Future • When the necessary approvals are in house, more “Black Box” units can be operated through one SAILOR 6004 Control Unit. In the near future e.g. both the SAILOR 628x AIS System and the new SAILOR 6390 NavtexReceiver can be operated on the same SAILOR 6004 Control Panel – simply by activating the individual App
