The Ultranet is.. • … an intuitive student-centred electronic learning environment that supports high quality learning and teaching, connects students and parents and enables efficient knowledge transfer
The Ultranet will.. • …provide an online space to manage the running of schools. It will also allow teachers, parents and students to access the information they need via the Internet.
The Ultranet will.. • …bring together the key processes involved in the day-to-day running of a school and a classroom, and become an indispensable part of school practice and culture

The Ultranet is scheduled to begin in schools in Term 1 2009, with the deployment finalised in Term 3 2010.
A Differentiated Approach • All WMR schools will receive Ultranet Readiness support from the Ultranet Coaches • A differentiated approach will support > Participating schools in eLearning Coordinator Training > Schools not participating in eLearning Coordinator Training > Focus schools who have Literacy, Numeracy and Science L&T coaches
Key strategies for ALL schools.. • All WMR schools nominate a School-based Ultranet Readiness Team - • Principal • Professional Learning Leader • ICT/eLearning Leader (Memo sent out to all schools)
No.1 - Key strategy for eLearning Coordinators & their schools eLearning Coordinators register and participate in WMR 6 day program to build and develop leadership capacity around eLearning and the Ultranet. (These schools are seen as proactive in their efforts in embracing the Ultranet)
No.2 - Key strategy for eLearning Coordinators & their schools eLearning Coordinators fill in the school profile proforma with other members of the school-based Ultranet Readiness Team and return to Day 2 of Training Program.
No.3 - Key strategy for eLearning Coordinators & their schools WMR Ultranet Team use this data to build effective strategies to provide ongoing support for eLearning Coordinators and their schools, based on the strengths and weaknesses identified on the proforma.
No.4 - Key strategyfor eLearning Coordinators & their schools WMR Ultranet Team visit eLearning Coordinators in their schools, with the Principal and the Professional Learning Leader to discuss a plan for Ultranet readiness.(This may happen before Day 2 of program)
No.5 - Key strategyfor eLearning Coordinators & their schools eLearning Leaders are mentored and supported by the WMR Ultranet Team in order to create a sustained model of ICT leadership in their own school.
No.1 - Key strategy for other schools… • WMR Ultranet Coaches make initial contact with schools • Meet & Greet with School-based Ultranet Readiness Team • ICT walk of school • Overview of Ultranet & ePotential survey and resource
No.2 - Key strategy for other schools… • School profile proforma is completed with the help of school-based Ultranet Readiness Team, with areas of strengths and weaknesses identified.
No.3 - Key strategy for other schools… • Schools are encouraged to complete the ePotential survey in order to develop strategies around building workforce capabilities, and to determine ‘Ultranet readiness’
No.4 - Key strategy for other schools… • Follow up support is determined on the strengths and weaknesses, and feedback from the school teams.
No.5 - Key strategy for other schools… • Resources and Professional Learning opportunities are shared with these schools.
Support for all schools will be around - • Professional Leadership • Infrastructure • Workforce capability • Learning & Teaching • Data/Content • Community
