Where did people usually put their stories? • History is our written story. Before people could write, how did they keep track of things?

Open your sketchbook and write a story that you want to tell Your story can be short Your story must have taken place in your past, but it doesn’t have to be true When you are finished, work on some symbols that could be used to tell your story, remember to keep it simple!

Elements to include in your cave painting • Line • How thick is the line going to be, will it be straight or zigzag? • Shape • Are you going to use mostly geometric (with corners) or Organic (blobs) shapes? • Direction • What direction do you want the reader to go? How will you get them to go that way? • Repetition • How will the reader know what is happening? • Balance • Is your drawing symetrical and easy to look at?

Turn in your finished drawing in the 3rd grade folder on shelf • Make sure your Name and Grade are on the back of your painting
