Planning 10.10 Engagement with stakeholders: next steps to follow on specific needs and feedback received from stakeholders – reports from all BSCs 10.40 North West Europe market opportunities – Ulrich Wirtz, Hi3 11.10 Preparation of individual BSCs delivery plans: • BioenNW Outputs paper: breakdown of the indicators • range of specific activities, workshops, events to be organised by BSCs, • promoting BSCs activities on the regional and partnership level • areas of joint activities and similarities between individual BSCs • sharing best practice on clustering to identify best model for BSC development 12.10 BSCs Internal communication: • Coordination of BSCs activities by the BSC Steering Group (e.g. monthly teleconferences, regular reports); 12.30 Lunch

  3. Engagement with stakeholders WP1: Actively recruit members and initiate dialogue with stakeholders (40-60 organisations for each BSC) Design governance system for BSCs Recruit Board members and steering group

Members Types of members in the bioenergy sector • Technology/Product-oriented • Companies (contractors, technological companies (biomass, biomethanation, gasification, etc.) • University department and R&D centers in the biomass area, environment & energy planning, etc. + Training • Project-oriented • Companies (energy utilities, waste management, etc.) • Consulting and engineering & studies • Public entities, Cities & Municipalities • Financing and Banks, Investment Companies • Customer-oriented • Companies with wood & organic waste • Transversal • Associations, clusters, etc.

Members / Stakeholders Actively recruit members and initiate dialogue with stakeholders • Regional analysis, contacts & visits planning • Objective of more than 45 members by BSC • Balance and equilibrium between the members (companies/university/public authorities, size (SME/Big Companies), Know-How etc.) Objective of 15-25 members by the end of the year? (indicator?)

Objectives of BSC • Gather companies, public sector players and other players active in the biomass (bioenergy) sector within an area • Create and support industry oriented projects (<10 MWth) • Investment projects and commercial partnerships • Access to an innovative capacity and a greater competitiveness level • Create a meeting place • Inter-members knowledge, contacts and experience exchanges • Biomass sector and markets knowledge • Encourage exchange and networking • Knowledge and best practice exchange • Synergies with other associations,. • Local promotion of biomass • Bioenergy schemes, technologies, etc. • The BESC

Activities • Promotion: • participation at regional fairs and events • Best promotion is through actions • (newspaper) • Information: • Newsletter • Conferences / Workshops (financing, difficult biomass, permitting, technologies) • Support center / Contact point (mailing, question for general or specific) • Know-how exchanges ( bilateral meeting, company/project visits, etc.) Ps: gathering data • Support - Give support to facilitate development of bioenergy project (man-hours for reflexion and analysis (business planning), know-how transfer, etc.)
