  1. Initial Posting to a Discussion Forum

  2. Welcome to the Discussion Forum The Discussion Forum is where you reply to posts within the classroom. This tutorial will walk you through the steps to make Initial Postings in your Modules. Initial Postings are required for every Module and are replies to the instructors postings (which will always be in blue). You will not need to create a New Post in the Discussion Forum. New Post will be created in the Cyber Café and Questions for Instructor

  3. Step One: Getting to the Discussion Forum 1. You can find your Discussion Forums in the course home screen. 2. Select the appropriate module in the week you need to post. For this demonstration we will choose Module 2 Discussion Forum

  4. Step Two: The Discussion Forum Clicking the Module Discussion will take you to a screen like this. 3. By clicking the + sign in front of “Post Title” will expand any responses or sub categories within each section Anything under a main post is a response

  5. Step Three: Initial Reply to Instructor 4. Find the appropriate module you need to reply to from your instructor (in blue).

  6. Step Four: Reply to Instructor Posting When you click the posting a screen like this will appear 5. After reading what the instructor has posted, click “Reply”.

  7. Step Five: Replying When you click the Reply a screen like this will appear If you cannot remember what was written in the post you can click “Quote Original Message” or view the post at the bottom of the page Type reply to post here… 6. This is where you can type your response to the instructor.

  8. Step Five: Replying Continued ABC: This spell checks what you have typed into the response box. Type reply to post here… Once you have finished, click “Submit”. You have now replied to your initial posting.
