NAVIGATION WG REPORT Sept 2005 SUMMARY TECHNICAL STATUS (2 of 2) • September 2005 workshop accomplishments: • Conducted extensive and detailed discussions and review of the ADM, the TDM, and the XML specification white books (XML covers all navigation data messages); including all related material in the Navigation GB. • The Nav WG is interested in supporting the proposed new work pertaining to DDOR: Difference Differential One-way Range (delta-DOR), subject to directions from the CESG. • The Nav WG is interested in supporting the ISO SC14 collision avoidance work, subject to feedback from ISO SC14 personnel. • Participated in the discussion that led to establishment of the XML Standards and Guidelines SIG. The Nav WG is represented in this SIG.
NAVIGATION WG REPORT Sept 2005 CROSS-AREA TECHNICAL ISSUES • Issue 1: When new work is proposed, it is not being announced in a coordinated manner to all WGs. Example: Space Ground Interoperability BOF. • OTHER ISSUES AND CONCERNS • Issue1: (From Spring 2005) Priority for real-time radiometric data transfer, if required, needs endorsement by CESG, CMC, IOAG or the Agencies.
NAVIGATION WG REPORT Sept 2005 PROPOSED RESOLUTIONS AND ACTIONS FOR CESG/CMC APPROVAL RESOLUTION 1 The Navigation WG resolves to request the CMC to approve the initial red book releases of the Tracking Data Message, the Attitude Data Messages and the XML Specification documents for official CCSDS review. These documents will be finalized and ready for release by October 17, 2005. RESOLUTION 2The Navigation WG resolves to request the CMC to approve the release of the Navigation green book, issue 2, which will be finalized and ready by October 17 2005. RESOLUTION 3 The Navigation WG is pleased to express appreciation to NASA and OMG for their excellent hosting of this workshop.
