  2. What is Career Cruising? • It is an internet-based career exploration and planning tool. • It is used by students to explore careerand college options. • It helps students develop a career plan. • It can be accessed from school or home!

  3. What are the features of the program? • Interest and Skills Assessment • College Exploration • Career Profiles • Multimedia Interviews • Individual Learning Plan • Resume Builder

  4. Why use Career Cruising? • Students across Kentucky are now required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP). • The ILP is completed by using Career Cruising • It begins in 6th grade and continues through high school • You can even use it throughout college! ILP

  5. What are the ILP requirements for 7th graders in Career Cruising? • Career Matchmaker (Complete a new Matchmaker Session!) • My Skills • Learning Styles • Careers that Interest Me • Schools that Interest Me • Career Cluster Interests • Organization & Activities • Annual ILP Review (complete with teacher after ILP is at 66%) • Annual Student Survey (Complete last)

  6. Begin Career Cruising by … • Going to internet address: www.careercruising.com/ilp • Typing your ten-digituser name and six-digitpassword provided on your access card • Click Log In

  7. Press the profile username

  8. Always click LOGOUT! Check View Details to see how to get to 100% Click here to start a NEW Matchmaker session

  9. Complete Your Career Matchmaker! Answer All 116 Questions AND All 45 Skills Questions! • Review each of your TOP 40 careers finding out what the job description is, earnings (salary), education required, etc…. • Save your top FOUR careers by clicking on each of your top four careers from the 40 listed and SAVE TO MY ILP • Complete the graphic organizer, “Are YOU Ready To Race To High School?” that you will get from the teacher
