5. ASIC ASIC is Australia’s corporate, markets and financial services regulator. We contribute to Australia’s economic reputation and wellbeing by ensuring that Australia’s financial markets are fair and transparent, supported by confident and informed investors and consumers. Our responsibilities are to: • maintain, facilitate and improve the performance of the financial system and entities in it • promote confident and informed participation by investors and consumers in the financial system • administer the law effectively and with minimal procedural requirements • enforce and give effect to the law • receive, process and store, efficiently and quickly, information that is given to us • make information about companies and other bodies available to the public as soon as practicable.

10. Australia – New Zealand Cooperation We have a long term vision of a ‘Single Economic Market’ for a seamless Australia-New Zealand business environment. ASIC and the NZCO have a long standing relationship and hold bi-lateral meetings. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2006 Aims to reduce costs and improve services and ensure integrity across both registers.

12. NZAU Connect This new mobile search App was launched in July 2013 in Google Play (android) and iTunes (iOS) stores. Allows free information from both New Zealand and Australian company registers to be searched simultaneously. Also allows business name information held in Australia to be searched. Complements web services that provide these free searches – offered via an increasingly in demand customer channel.

13. NZAU Connect Over 6,100 downloads of NZAU Connect since its release 6 months ago Over 86,000 service calls have been issued by the App - for searches of the ASIC or NZCO Registers, or both. Registers. Both the ASIC and NZCO Registers have been searched over 50,000 times each in the first 6 months, direct from the NZAUConnect App
