Anasazi- an early farming group that were located in the Four Corners, they were also known as the “Cliff Dwellers”
Inuit- they traveled from Asia to North America about 2,500 years ago. They developed the kayak.
Maya- settled in present-day Mexico about 3,000 years ago. They specialized in basket weaving, stone carving, astronomy, math and building.
Valley of Mexico- region in central Mexico, location of the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan
Tenochtitlan- capital of the Aztec Empire in the Valley of Mexico, on the site of present-day Mexico City
Aztecs- a group of wandering people that settled in the Valley of Mexico.
Incas- their empire developed in the Andes Mountains when they conquered the area around the city of Cuzco.
