F : For • I went to Paris , for it was there. A “For” is almost same as a “Because”.
A : And • A “And” connects equal similar ideas. • I went to Paris , and I also went to London.
N : Nor • I didn’t go to Paris , nordid I go to London. + “Nor , Neither, So …” makes word inverted. Ex) I am not happy. ->Neither/Nor am I . You are beautiful and so am I.
B : But • A “But” connects equal different ideas. • I did go to Paris , but I didn’t enjoy it.
O : Or • A “or” has to include meaning of future and choice. Ex) I will go to Paris , or I will go to London.
Y : Yet • After “Yet”, It comes to unpredictable case. Ex)I have been 10 years in Korea, yet I don’t know how to use chopsticks.
S : So • A “So” connects a reason to a result. • I went to Paris , so I could visit the Louvre.
When I went to Paris , I drank lots of wine. D.C I.C “When I went to Paris” is a dependent clause because It needs more information. Otherwise, A independent clause is unnecessary to write more information.
1. I am an optimist.(An optimist is a person with a positive outlook on life.) I have optimism.(Optimism is a mental attitude or world view that interprets situations and events as being best ) 2. I (Always capital) live in Seoul. 3. I am an optimist , so I have a good altitude .
