Project feasibility study field trip • 3. Results of the IPEC seminar in Iksan • Korean side face the same problems in poultry industry as the Netherlands • Every Korean party would like to work together to realize IPEC in Iksan region • But, without top-level ‘instructions’, no current Korean party is willing to take the lead for IPEC • A final report about the SMP project is written to inform the topsector and Dutch Ministry; this report can also be used by Iksan to report up to the Korean MAFRA; from both channels and maybe also Embassy helps, hope to get Korean top-down ‘instructions’ and support for IPEC • The report will also via the Korean embassy in The Hague be presented to the national authorities in Korea.
Project Visit Harim Group • 4. Harim Group (the biggest Poultry production and Food company in Korea) visit WUR & PEC • Called for WUR to set up a branch at Joenju University, to speed up NL way of golden-triangle collaboration • Signed MoU with PEC for a pilot e-learning/blended learning to be executed in Q1 and Q2 2017: 2 modules poultry training
Project summary • This SMP has built up a consortium necessary for IPEC project whole-chain approach • Feasibility study trip was a success, built up mutual understandings and common interests with Korean partners • Dutch Ministry, Mr. van Dam, Dutch Embassy in Seoul, are well informed about this project; MAFRA is also informed about the IPEC initiative; “Top-down” in S. Korea is utterly important • IPEC is an item in the common agenda of a Korean/Dutch steering group guarding the progress of the agreements during the trade mission • This SMP has prepared well and paved a good way for future global IPEC project
Project follow up Barneveld will lead from now on for global IPEC: • Start lobbying the most top-level decision makers in S. Korea for IPEC • Starting a pilot e-learning with Harim • Making short time results: • Website • Office/meeting room in Iksan • Setting up a working group with mandate • Evaluating and adapting the consortium to the outcome of the feasibility study • Preparing a PPS for implementation of attainable program parts
