  1. Carmelo Cappello Carmelo Cappello è nato a Ragusa nel 1912 è morto a Milano nel 1996. Soggiornò a Roma nel 1929 e si trasferisce a Milano nel 1930. Studia all’Istituo Speriore d’Arte di Monza. Nel 1937 inizia l’attività di scultore. Dal 1940 partecipa alle Biennali di Venezia, Milano;alle triennali ed alle quadriennali di Milano e Roma. Nel ’65 è Accademico di S. Luca a Roma. Nel 1980 accademico Nazionale. E’ stato allievo di Marino Marini e rapidamente approdato dalla scultura figurativa alla scultura astratta. I materiali utilizzati quasi sempre tecnologicamente freddi, accentuano soluzioni formali rispondenti ad una logica ideazione. Ha donato 100 opere alla sua città natale che gli ha dedicato una Civica Raccolta a Ragusa Ibla.
