  2. 1. Pretérito: Principio • -Ricardo empezó a trabajar. (Ricardo started to work) • -Marisa se levantó a las 8 am. (Marisa woke up at 8 am)

  3. 2. Pretérito: Final • Antonio terminó el trabajo ayer. (Antonio finished his work yesterday) John Lennon murió en 1980. (John Lennon died in 1980)

  4. 3. Pretérito: Acción completada • El examen duró una hora. (The exam lasted one hour) El partido de fútbol terminó y ganó el FC Barcelona. (The football game ended and FC Barcelona won)

  5. 4. Imperfecto: Repetición (en el pasado) • Elena visitaba a su mamá todos los fines de semana. (Elena used to visit her mum each weekend) Antes, los Redskins siempre ganaban. (Redskins always used to win before)

  6. 5. Imperfecto: Acción en progreso • Nosotros veíamos la televisión mientras cenábamos. (We were watching TV while we had dinner)
