Buildings and GroundsOctober 2012 ICC: The main office for Day Hab was moved upstairs to its newly renovated location on the second floor. This was the former space occupied by PSCH. Parking lot restoration for the main lot was completed. This phase of the project included: Storm drainage, catch basins (3) , tearing up old existing asphalt and replacing with a new 3'' surface and base, lot stripping, garbage coral, retaining wall and fencing.Two new Chairlifts were Installed at the ICC taken from the Manor road home at the families request. Core drilling of the roof slab was preformed to establish existing conditions for possible installation of a: greenhouse , elevator and party room .Manor Road group home completed on October 4th and Opened on Sunday October 14th. The project came in under budget and was a great success overall. We have also acquired a final C/O upon completion.The New Phone system installation has began in the Main office .Verizon has installed the new Fios Circuit. Inputting IP address and Mac addresses to server behind the scenes. We now need OYM to work with Applier to to start converting individual numbers. Commemorate a special event in someone’s life, honor a family member or friend or memorialize someone special in your life . Bricks will sell for $225.00 for a 4 x 8 inch brick. Each brick will have space for 4 lines, 21 characters per line. Bricks R Us will place a link on our website, so donors have the ability to order on-line. This site can be designed to direct our donors to send payment to a specified mail address, pay by electronic check or by credit card. PROGRAM REPORT • With sadness to Quentin Davis passed away 10/11 • Recreation: Trip to Raquet Lake was a great success. Rec resumed 10/12 without a hitch. • Residential: Walk thru for Manor Road was on Thursday, October 4, 2012. 2 consumers moved in on Sunday 10/14 & Monday 10/15. The rest of the folks will be moving in at the end of October as they wait for their bedroom furniture to be delivered. Promotions for new house managers/asst.managers became effective October 1st – Dana Carney (Mgr) & Nandi Ayanru (Asst) at Manor / Stanley Ranko (Mgr) at Bement and James Savage (asst) No Burgher. Barbara Nasta was nominated for the Robert Witkowski Direct Support Staff Recognition Award. • Day Hab: Yoga program began for the individuals. There are two classes every Tuesday. Each session is 45 minutes and has 12 individuals in a session. • Community Habilitation: There will be numerous changes brought forth by changes to OPWDD’s amendments to Comm.Hab program. There will be amendments in programming, fiscal, staff and customer service. • ICC: ICC has started securing outside renters for usage and event usage. Kim is working on brochure. Kim is developing a request form so anyone can rent a space for any function or event. • MSC: • Continued coordination with Medicaid & Social Security to recoup Medicaid monies. • Supported Employment: • Supported Employment team staffed an OYM information table on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Staten Island Wellness Fair at the Hilton Garden Inn. The team made great contacts for Novel-Tees. • In addition to the aforementioned event, SE team also staffed a table at Matthew Titone’s 4th Annual Apple harvest Fest on September 27, 2012. OYM small business entrepreneurs sold their arts and crafts. We also sold tee-shirts and plants. • T shirts – meeting was held to explore expanding T-shirt orders and operations (screen printing) with SpectrumWorks. • PEP Plans: All programs have developed and submitted their PEP Plans for the 4th qtr. These plans will be reviewed during the 1st week of Jan 2013 and updated plans will be developed for the first qtr 2013. • Financial: • Instituted a standardized Food Stamp Procedure for all supervised residences eff 10/1/12 • In addition, new oversight & procedures were put into place 10/11/12 for the use of Shop Rite cards for residences. This will be rolled out to Day Hab also. • Reviewed and implemented procedure to adjust PNA for consumers who are employed. • These 3 initiatives have the potential to yield @ $150,000 in cost savings. • In addition we hope to see positive results in the use of OT over the next 2 months once new staff are hired and trained • Finally, a comprehensive in service on entitlements was held on 10/17 – another session is scheduled for November
