Respect others around you and have fun!
DISCIPLINE EXPECTATIONS • Strike One: • Nonverbal Warning • Strike Two: • Verbal Warning after class • Strike Three: • Phone Call home and detention • Excessive Disturbance: Immediate Removal and sent to office (red carded)
Required Materials for class: Blue/Black pen or pencil (#2 pencil required for scan- tron tests) Colored pencils (not used daily) Loose-leaf paper (used occasionally for exit slips, games, etc.) Agenda Book (DAILY!) Yellow Social Studies folder Yellow Social Studies spiral notebook Holt World History textbook provided for classroom only Online text used for home use (every student should have a copy of how to get to the online text) Passes are provided to computer lab for students who may not have internet available at home
HOMEWORK Agenda Book completed the very first day of each week (ENTIRE WEEKS ASSIGNMENTS GIVEN ON THIS DAY) 3-4 assignments given each week Please ask your child about his/her assignments For any home assignment, notes and worksheets will be the reference material necessary to complete the assignment
TESTS AND QUIZZES • Tests will be given at the completion of a topic • Review sheets are provided to all students 1-2 days prior to the test • On test day a folder/notebook check will be done to ensure students have kept organized during the topic • Quizzes may be given the day after a reading assignment.

Enrichment Activities • Given to students who are working above level and desire the challenge. In regular classes this will be given in place of other assignments • In honors classes this will be given as part of the chapters work activities • Honor students will also be expected to complete honors assignments weekly which will/can include: • current events (school appropriate) • Graphic organizer designed by students • Games/books/poems/songs connected to the topic we are learning
Zero Tolerance Policy • Zero Tolerance policy is not for the average student. It is only for those students who continue to refuse to follow the class rules and procedures of seventh grade • At the end of each interim and grading period, there will be a general discussion of students by the 7th grade teachers. Should there be a continuing problem, that student may receive a detention for each future infraction of the rules. • Progressive discipline, an administrative consequence will follow the zero tolerance procedure as detentions add up. • Upon being put on progressive discipline, the student’s parents will be notified and a conference will be set up with applicable teachers and administration.
