  1. Waltrip High School 2014-2015 WELCOME JUNIORS!

ATTENDANCE • BE HERE ON TIME • Follow the school attendance policy (please see Student Handbook) • TARDIES: Must sign in at the classroom door upon entry • Not allowed into the classroom without a pass • Not allowed to leave the class without a pass • No hall passes are given during the first and last 15 minutes of each period • Rewards and Privileges: Show up daily and not late for 3 weeks

  3. TUTORIALS • Students who do not meet specific averages must attend tutorials (below 75%) • Students who do not attend tutorials will receive a REFERRAL • Students must sign in and sign out of tutorial classroom • Must have signature from Teacher / Faculty • Tutorials will NOT be held after school

  4. SCHOOL RULES • Respect all classroom and school rules • Report bullying to an adult • Report suspicious behavior • Threats, Fights, Theft / Stealing, Vandalism (graffiti) • Respect given = Respect earned

  5. DRESS CODE • No sagging • No skirts • Polo shirts • Khakis • Jeans with no holes • No hats • No shorts • HANDOUT PICTURE

  6. GPA & GRADES • Turn assignments on time • Do not miss assignments • Ask teachers about make-up work with absences • Tutorials can help raise your grade • Reminder: Waltrip HS uses composite grades • Responsibility to ask for HELP (before, during, or after school) • 18 credits to become a senior / 26 credits to graduate • Calculating your GPA  “There’s an APP for that”

  7. Grade Matter Clubs / Sports • You may miss up to THREE weeks of your sport, band, or club if your class grade is not satisfactory

  9. PEN, PENCIL, AND PAPER • See teacher’s syllabus for basic needs and supplies

  10. E.O.C – END OF COURSE EXAM • There is no 11th grade EOC • SAT • Opportunity to retake if student did not pass EOC • Prepare / Awareness • Study independently or seek help from a teacher / peer

  11. IMPORTANT DATES • PSAT October 6 Last day of Fall Semester December 19 • SAT April 15 • Last Day of Schl! May 28th, 2015
