  20. Reading B Car Chase Movies The invention of the car didn’t just bring about a revolution in personal transport. It brought us The Car Chase, which challenges the traffic regulations, the laws of physics and good old fashioned common sense. According to a recent survey conducted among club members, here are the top three car chase movies in history.

  21. Reading B Car Chase Movies Ronin (1998) Ronin has one of the most admired movie car chases of the modern era. It manages to incorporate genuinely high speeds by camera trick, and it is the envy of every British road user. Employing Formula One pilots as stunt drivers, Frankenheimer applies the Audi S8, BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz 6.9 to battle one another on narrow city streets, on roads cut along the French Riviera coast, through tunnels and driving against traffic on crowded highways. It’s one thing to wreck cars in a movie, it’s something else altogether to have them driven as brilliantly as they are in Ronin.

  22. Reading B Car Chase Movies Bullitt (1968) Undeniably the ultimate car chase. It had an good choice of location, which allowed the stunt performers to do better in the movie. Besides, it had Steve McQueen, who quite obviously drove the car in even the most dangerous shots. The scene benefits hugely from star Steve McQueen’s natural ability behind the wheel: What makes it a cinematic landmark is its sense of realism and quality of its driving.

  23. Reading B Car Chase Movies Gone In 60 Seconds (1974) This is not the other Angelina Jolie movie you’re thinking of, it’s a classic. The story is disjointed and random, the dialog could have been written by a 4-year-old. But it does feature a 40-minute chase, almost 100 cars were wrecked. It’s the sort of film we all dream of when we were young. Sadly, Halicki, the filmmaker, was killed in 1989 while filming a stunt. What do you think of the relationship between human-beings and the mechanical beast that we live with everyday? Do tell us your thoughts at movieclub@msn.cn.
