1. Main characteristics of the faculty The function of faculty is special preparation and training: • orthodox priests • employers of departs of orthodox theology (biblical studies, systematical and practical theology, church history, byzantology etc.) • social workers
2. History of Orthodox faculty 1950 – establishment in Prague situated in Prešov 1990 – accepted by University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice 1997 – accepted by University of Prešov Orthodox theological faculty is the only one Faculty of orthodox theology in the Middle Europe
3. Studying at faculty • These days studying at faculty is in two • studying programs: • orthodox theology (Mr. a PhD.) • social work and charity service (Bc., Mr. a PhD.) Faculty has evaluated all academic laws.
4. Departments of faculty At faculty realize their own scientific work and research seven departments: • Biblical studies • Systematical theology • Practical theology • Church history and Byzantology • Christian anthropology a social work • Christian pedagogic and psychology • Greek language and culture
5. Qualification structure of faculty • professors: 5 • doctors of theology: 4 • assistant lectures: 11 • assistant lectures without upper degree: 1 Orthodox theological faculty has the best Qualification structure from the other faculties.
6. Editional program of faculty between 2004-2009 • monographies: 51 (11 edited abroad) • scientific articles and studies: 377(55 edited abroad) • studying texts and books for university: 16 • specialized articles: 298 • other studies and articles: 194 In 2009 academicals employers of faculty (21) wrote 182 editional units, there were 10 monographies, which are 8,67 of editional unit on one employer of faculty.

KEGA 3/2174/04 - Creation of text book for secondary grammar school and Greek Slovak and Slovak Greek dictionary 9. VGA 1/2007 - Greek language and culture in the Middle Europe 10. VGA 1/2009 - Church Slavonic Slovak dictionary II. The final grant’s success: 1 711 406 Sk (56.808,27 €)

10. International relations Faculty has bilateral agreements with most of European universities in departments of humanity science and theology. In ERASMUS program has faculty bilateral agreements with: UNIVERSITY of CYPRUS, Cyprus UNIVERSITY of JOENSUU, Finland LUDWIG MAXIMILIANS UNIVERSITAT MUNCHEN, Germany ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI, Greece CHARLES UNIVERSITY, Czech republic UNIVERSITY OF MACEDONIA, Greece UNIVERSITY OF SOFIA, Bulgaria
