Your Brain • Our brain, like the rest of our anatomy, is made up of two halves, a left brain a right brain. • You interactive notebook is set up in a similar way • Left Side or “Output”: used for processing new ideas. Use this side to understand material with illustrations, reflections, poetry, colors, review, etc • Right Side or “Input”: used for recording class notes, discussion notes, reading notes, outlines, graphic organizes, etc.
Number your pages • Skip the first page and then number your pages in the top right hand corner from 1-20 • Skipped Page: At the top write “Cover Page” • Page 1-3 will be used for your Table of Contents • Show the example Mrs. C!!
Time to Glue or Tape…. • When you glue papers into your notebook make sure they are cut to size by using scissors! • There should not be excess papers hanging out of the your notebook • The Cover Page Should have a COLORFUL illustration of something that represents Social Studies to you. • The Table of Contents (TOC) should always be updated! • There should never be any blank pages in your interactive notebook! • Remember odd numbered pages (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) should be on the right • Remember even numbered pages (2, 4, 6, 8, 10) should be on the left • If these guidelines are not followed then points will be deducted. You will have a Notebook Check every two weeks.
