University of Manitoba (UM) • OVERVIEW • Located in Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba • Founded in 1877, it was the first university to be built in Western Canada • Over 30,000 students are enrolled • More than 13% of these are international students from more than 80 countries • UM is known for being research intensive and provides more than 24 faculties • Offers all professional programs (except veterinary medicine and optometry) • The International College of Manitoba (ICM), located on campus, offers a pathway to 2nd year university designed specifically for international students • The UM English Language Centre provides CanTest, TOEFL iBT, IELTS and TOEIC preparation programs, intensive academic English programs, English for Academic Purposes, the Canadian University Experience Program, and is an IELTS Testing Centre • The UM International Centre for Students helps students with accommodation and student services • UM has options for homestays, and several on-campus residences • Brazilian students are eligible for the Science Without Borders Scholarship

Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) • OVERVIEW • Located in the French neighbourhood of St. Boniface in Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba • Over 13,000 full and part-time students are enrolled • Approximately 25% of these are international students from more than 16 countries • USB is a French-language post-secondary institution focusing on specialized university degree programs, English and French language training, as well as technical and professional training • USB students can live, study and work in French • USB has two near-campus residences

Brandon University (BU) • OVERVIEW • Located in Brandon, Manitoba’s second-largest city • BU is a rural campus with an urban feel • Over 3,000 full and part-time students are enrolled • Approximately 5% of these are international students from more than 40 countries • BU is known for its dedication to the liberal arts and sciences, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees through its Faculties of Arts, Education, Health Studies, Science and its internationally-acclaimed School of Music • The BU English for Academic Purposes program provides the opportunity upon completion to achieve regular university admission • The BU Office of International Activities helps students with accommodation and student services • BU has options for homestays and three on-campus residences

Manitoba Institute of Trades &Technology (MITT) • OVERVIEW • Located at six campuses in Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba • Over1,000 students are enrolled • Approximately 40% of these are international students • MITT specializes in Health Care, Human Services, Information & Business Technology, and Skilled Trades • Offers one and two year diploma & certificate programs as well as work practicums and co-operative education opportunities • The MITT English Language Centre offers English for general purposes and English for academic purposes • Has connections to college, university, apprenticeship and professional associations • MITT offers accommodations through the University of Winnipeg’s campus residence

Red River College (RRC) • OVERVIEW • Located over nine campuses in Winnipeg and across Manitoba • More than 30,000 students are enrolled • Approximately 500 international students • Offers diploma & certificate programs as well as work practicums, and co-operative education opportunities • RRC is integrated with undergraduate universities for joint and post-graduate-programs • Offers Business, Community Services, Computer and Information Systems Technology, Creative Arts, Engineering and CAD Technology, Health Sciences, Hospitality, Trades and Technology, Transportation Technology, and Academic Preparation Programs • The RRC Language Training Centre offers English for general purposes and English for academic purposes • Offers a newly built state-of-the-art residence near the popular downtown campus

Assiniboine Community College (ACC) • OVERVIEW • Located in Brandon, Manitoba's second-largest city • Over10,000 students and more than 40 programs • Programs offered are in agriculture, culinary arts, hotel and restaurant management, environment, business, health, human services, technology, and the skilled trades • The ACC English Language Institute offers Intensive English Courses and English for specific purposes such as hotel and restaurant management, culinary Arts, business as well as TESOL and IELTS courses and testing preparation • ACC is an IELTS testing centre • Has partnerships with educational institutions in Canada allowing for transfer credits • ACC offers accommodations through the University of Winnipeg’s campus residence
