CLH HISTORY 1968 - $3,000,000 hatchery construction bond issue passed 1970 - Crystal Lake chosen for hatchery site 1971 - Construction of CLH begins 1972 - CLH becomes operational and receives first eggs 1973 - CLH construction “completed to funding level”. Anadromous Fish Act provides $100,000 for improvements to water supply and spawning facility 1975 - Construction of ten Burroughs pond raceways completed 1977- CLH transferred from Hatchery Services to FRED Division 1978 - BKD outbreak - all eggs and fish destroyed and hatchery disinfected
1986 - Start cooperative chinook release project with SSRAA at Earl West Cove 1992 & 1993 - CLH receives 20% of operational funding by Sport Fish 1993 - FRED Division merged with Commercial Fisheries to become CFMD (Commercial Fisheries, Management and Development) 1993 & 1994 - Receives 100% of operational funding by Sport Fish, operated by CFMD 1994 - First adult returns from 100% Sport Fish Division funded operations 1995 - CLH transferred to Sport Fish Division 2000 - SSRAA takes over operation of CLH effective July 1
