WHAT:Establishing the Value of a Learning Organization ASTD’s 2012 State of the Industry Report • Organizations committed to learning and development • U.S. organizations spent $156.2 billion • Per-employee spend decreased by 4 percent • Average direct expenditure per employee increased from $1,228 in 2010 to $1,182 in 2011 • Learning hours per employee remained relatively stable at 30.5 hours • Organizations paid more for each hour of learning content used per employee
