Agents of Socialization • Read pages 122-128 and on the back of the socialization handout identify/explain the agents of socialization • Create 4 columns and 2 rows (giving ample space) • Part 1-identify the four main agents and how they are characterized in the text (3-4 points for each) • Part 2-identify how those agents have socialized you (2-3 examples) • Part 3 (on back of my culture handout)-brainstorm events/developments from your childhood-what have been the biggest “socializing agents” in your life • List them and explain how they have shaped you • Draw the visual of you and label yourself accordingly • Choose two of these and explain how they have shaped you from one of the perspectives (social psychology or sociological theories) • Freud, Erikson, Piaget, Kohlberg, Gillligan, Mead, Cooley
