Design Goals • Fast paced, fluid, fun. • Classic first person shooter style. • As many options for the player as possible, given the design time frame. • Multiple locations, enemies, and weapons.
Gameplay • The player points and clicks to fire the currently equipped gun at an enemy. • Enemies have varying health, different guns do different amounts of damage and have different spreads and fire rates. • Enemies will hid behind scenery in the current location. • The player will also have the ability to hide. • The player’s health decreases as they get hit, they can get healing to increase their health.
Features • Multiple guns and enemies. • The player has an avatar at the bottom of the screen that reflects the current damage state of the player. • The status bar has icons for all weapons as well as the “on-screen” view. • High scores and a high scores list! • Classic carnage!
Under the hood • Everything is implemented programmatically using Actionscript and movie clips. • Timers and event listeners drive the program execution. • The game is all 2-d graphics that will simulate the depth of a 3-d environment.
