SHORESIDE ELECTRICITY SHIP REQUIREMENTS • Voltage , Capacity ,Frequency • Electric and communication Systems • Connection terminal jetty, • positions versus jetty stations • Cable joints / gloves • ON-BOARD safety requirements
SHORESIDE ELECTRICITY PORT FACILITY REQUIREMENTS • Regulatory requirements – AMA ASND ss • Electric Voltages, Capacity,Frequencies • Terminal posititions • Electric and communication system • Equipotential Bonding and EL Separation • Power systems: Transformers, Distribution,Lighting,El heating • Crane system No ship is like the other- there are presently a number of shore connection positions
SEWAGE WATERS FROM SHIPSSHIP TO SHORE • no connection problems to connect ship sewage hose to the jetty
SEWAGE WATERS FROM SHIPS PORT FACILITIES • pumping systems for connection to Municipality sewage water plant • capacity on Municipality side - requirements concerning per ship and as a total • Problems related to geographic positions of jetties
SEWAGE WATERS FROM SHIPS • In principle the facility capacity may be mainly related to availability of the Municipality piping system and the Municipality´s waste water plant capacity. • A modern ferry uses fresh water and returns 60% of this water as sewage water. • 40% is used by the ship for rinsing and for drining purposes and consumed • Sludge water from the engine rooms is treated as detergent, to become collected as chem. waste when in port. IN PRINCIPLE THIS IS NO TECNICAL PROBLEM IF THE MUNICIPALITY HAS WASTE WATER PLANTS WITH ENOUGH CAPACITY
