  2. CPSC(Consumer Product Safety Commission) • Established in 1972 • Establishes minimum product safety standards on consumer products • If a product is found defective, they have the authority to recall the product.

  3. In 1999 the CPSC recalled a quarter of a million Nike water bottles. The reason for this was because the cap was not attached properly and could have possibly caused users to choke. CPSC don’t have legal authority to test or certify products before they are used or sold to the public. They have companies who do that for them.
