  2. Introduction Just picture it; being able to know the inner workings of someone else’s head. “With an unquiet mind, neither exercise, nor diet, nor physick can be of much use.”  -Samuel Johnson. This is basically saying that if you don’t have a proper mindset, then exercise, dieting, and physick will not make you happy in the long run. Psychology is basically the study of the human mind, and how it works. This power point will be listing the nature of work, working conditions, training, job outlook, and earnings of a psychologist.

Nature of Work • Conduct scientific studies of behavior and brain function • Collect information through observations, interviews, surveys, and other methods • Research and identify behavioral or emotional patterns • Test for patterns that will help them better understand and predict behavior • Use their knowledge to increase understanding among individuals and groups

  4. Working Conditions • Mainly Indoors • Not very physical, very mental • Working with others • 9-5 type of job

  5. Training, Qualification, Advancement • Requires a Ph.D in psychology • 1 year internship • I can take the psychology class at Lake Shore

  6. Job Outlook/Employment • Employment rate projected to rise 12% • Rising • I plan to live in New York, New York • No specific place I would like to work

  9. Summary After researching this career, I’ve decided that would very much like to become a psychologist. It’s a field that has always interested me and doing this is feasible for me. I think the best part about it would have to be the fact that I can learn about all the mental diseases that go on in the human mind. Hopefully even observe people with these diseases. This was overall a very positive learning experience.
