The Holy Spirit comes in Samaria • (Acts 8:14-17) When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. {15} When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, {16} because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. {17} Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit and me • I am utterly dependent on the Holy Spirit for power to witness or to live obedient to Christ. • (Acts 1:8) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses …" • (Galatians 5:22-23) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, {23} gentleness and self-control.
Multiplication of Ministry • (2 Timothy 2:1-2) You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. {2} And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.
How to be a great dad • (Ephesians 6:4) Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Children Dad Grand Children Great Grand Children
What winning spiritually looks like • “Name of the Lord honored” – People around us recognize we are different because we want to honor Jesus Christ. • “Confessed…and burned” – We clearly admit and decisively deal with our sin. • “Word of the Lord spread…” We experience God’s power to spread the gospel.
