2 Reasons why convicts came to New Holland/New South Wales 1. The first reason why convicts came to New Holland/New South Wales is because all the prisons in England were overflowing with convicts, so England sent many to Botany Bay and Port Arthur. 2. England thought it was a new beginning for all the convicts.
