Joshau Fishman • Stage 8: Only a few Elders speak the language. • Stage 7: Only adults beyond child bearing age speak the language. • Stage 6: Some inter-generational use of language. • Stage 5: Language is still very much alive and used in community.
Methodology • Partner with a dictionary owner • Spelling lessons • Dialect lessons • Consistency of translations • Programming for errors and common mistakes • Start Easy, then advance one grade at a time
