Announcements ACC FEST 2018 When: Saturday, Nov. 3rd 10am-1pm Where: ACC Highland Admission is FREE and includes: Live demos in welding, surgical technology, and more.  Information about the hottest jobs in Central Texas.  The chance to visit with representatives from ACC’s 100+ programs.  Answers about financial aid, career-training, transfer opportunities, and more.

  3. College web Quest At this point, we have discussed the basics of attending college and finding a career. Now it’s time to put it all together. For the next few weeks, we will do web quests on various colleges throughout the state. Beginning with Lamar University.

  4. College Web Quest A few facts: • Lamar University is located in Beaumont, TX 3 hours 15 minutes east of Bastrop. • Lamar University is a public university with 15,000 students. • Lamar’s mascot is the Cardinal.

  5. College web quest Go to this website: https://beacardinal.lamar.edu/academics/index.php On this page, Lamar University offers prospective students the different majors they can earn. Take some time, and look through each of the programs. Make sure you click “undergrad”.

  6. College Web Quest Now complete the following: • Pick three majors that you might want to pursue. List them. • For each major, list the type of careers available to these majors. • What other information looks interesting?
