  3. HUNAR SE ROZGAR TAK • The Prime Minister’s National Skill Development Council has identified Tourism/Hospitality Industry, along with Health and Information Technology for mass basing the Skill Training. The three sectors are recognized as larger generators of employment. • Hunar Se Rozgar Tak – Fully Funded by MoT (Avg.11,000/- per Trainee) Training initiative to create employable skills amongst the youth was launched in 2009-10 with a basic objective of reducing skill gap in the Hospitality & Tourism Sector. The program is fully funded by the MoT and it covers Four Hospitality related trades namely ; • FOOD PRODUCTION • FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE. • HOUSE-KEEPING and • BAKERY. • Each training program is of short duration of 6-8 weeks. • The training scheme is open to 8th pass unemployed youth of age between18-28 years.

FLOWER ARRANGEMENT IN EVENTS & FUNCTIONSNEED FOR THE COURSE • Trained floral arrangers are not available for hotels which are specially required for various functions in banquets /events / functions. • After doing this course these students can become entrepreneurs and have start their business of floral arrangement/decoration with the minimum investment of Rs. 20,000 only. OR they may be employed by event managers, Hotels /Marriage palaces etc. • Presently the Flower Arranger’s in Chandigarh are from neighboring states.

  26. SALARY/INCOME • The Flower Arranger’s salary starts from Rs.3000 and can go up to Rs.15000. • To start their own business the initial investment required worth Rs. 20000.

  27. TECHNICIANS TRAINED FOR LIGHTINGNEED FOR THE COURSE • Lack of knowledge of basic safety requirements. • Mostly untrained and working by hit and trial method. No proper tools are being used • Loose and shabby wiring ways which are accident prone i.e. there are no safety concerns. No. of accidents occur due to faults in electric circuits. • Lighting plays an important role in all sectors. Lack of knowledge of types of lighting and its right application. • Lack of knowledge of new available technologies. A formal training can give them exposure and helps in spreading awareness & usage of latest energy efficient and environmental friendly equipments. Need of task oriented lighting. Experienced electricians are in great demand.

  29. SALARY STRUCTURE • Daily wages @ Rs 200 – 300 depending upon skill and experience • Self employed can earn Rs 10,000 – 12, 000 per month • Industries and studios @ Rs 5000 – 7000 per month • Cruise @ Rs 20,000 – 25,000

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHYVIDEO EDITINGNEED Photography & Videography Course • Available work force is not trained professionaly. • Mostly untrained and working by hit and trial method. • Taking routine Photographs/Video and creativity is lacking. • Ethics in the field of Photography is missing as well as journalistic aptitude. • Growing Profession. • Media is in expansion mode and Advertising/Public Relations/Concept Photography/Documentary/Corporate Films/Citizen Journalism/ Visuals for online media are in great demand. Also, in Weddings & Event Functions.

Need for Video Editing • 24 X 7 Television Channels look for software/content which is well edited so trained people have great scope. • Production houses also supply video content to Audio/ Visual media and New Media and its editors are in great demand. • Video Editors who can also do VFX,GFX and CGA are most sought for. • Independent show, contribution towards documentary, corporate films, show reels, Advertising and PR campaign’s need good video editors. • Convergence of media and minimum or only one person can do all the expected work is preferred and backpack journalism is slowly coming in India as well so the course may prepare the man power.

Scope/Employment Opportunities • Training in the field will increase creativity and skills. • Knowing basic and advance technical/ theoretical knowledge will make better Photographer/Videographers/Video Editors. • Media- Audio/Visual needs skilled professionals that can be met by doing the course. • Self employment, Production houses-Television/Films, Concept and Theme Photography, Reality shows, Advertising and Public Relations firms need good photographer/ Videographers and also Video Editors. • Technical advancement with regard to camera/equipment/editing software are rapidly advancing and can be met only by trained professionals.

AVERAGE SALARY/INCOME • TV Channels especially in Punjabi are coming up like Star/ ABP is now in Punjabi, Tehalka, Channels of print media organizations are lined up, PTC, Day & Night, Doordarshan is expanding, Educational TV/ EDUSAT, CEC, Electronic Media Production Centre, at various places functional/ coming up. • Channels focusing North India are in fray • Good Video editor earns in hourly basis. • Video Editors can be recruited in a salary Rs. 12000 to 20,000/ per month. • Photographers and Videographers work on the assignment/ job basis if not employed permanently. • Videographers earn Rs. 12,000 to 18,000 per month average salary. • Still photographers may get Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per month initial salary.
