  2. When anyone wanted to go to the toilet they used a privy, also called a latrine. Most of these were just a simple wooden seat over a shaft that emptied into the moat through a latrine shaft.   3. Most of the food eaten in the castle was fresh from the farm land that surrounded the castle. Anything that needed to be stored was kept in store rooms on the lowest floor of the keep.
