Giving an effective presentation. • Keep text on slides limited. • 1 sentence per bullet. • No paragraphs • Light text on dark background -or- • Keep all text boldface for easy visibility in our classroom. Dark text on light background
Giving an effective presentation • Make eye contact with your audience • Do not stare at the screen for the whole presentation • Know what’s on the slide you’re presenting. • Make note cards, or print off slides. • Speak loud • Make sure you can be heard from the back of the room. • Go slow… but not too slow • If your audience is taking notes, give them ample time to do so.
Giving an effective presentation • Engage your audience • Ask questions • Ask for feedback • Ask for your audience’s opinions • If you make a mistake • If what you meant to say is typed on the slide, ignore your mistake • If not, correct yourself.
