  2. Communication • psmith@nutleyschools.org • If you need help- am available before school until after football season. See me or email me to set a time • Office- prep room between rooms 128 and 130

  3. What you need for class everyday • Notebook- just for Chemistry • Folder- for handouts • Pen or pencil to write with • Basic scientific calculator- one that has an exponent function. Can get for about $5-$10

  4. Expectations • Be on time • Be attentive in class • Be prepared- may be pop quizzes • Be respectful – of everything in class, people, materials, etc… • Sorry- no eating or drinking in class…Not my rule- is school rule

  5. Grading • 75%- Quizzes and Tests • 25%- Homework, Classwork, Labs • Will have a midterm and final exam

  6. Final thoughts The optimist sees the glass half full. 
The pessimist sees the glass half empty. 
The chemist see the glass completely full , half in the liquid state and half in the gas state. Your attitude determines your altitude!!!!
