The Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance(DRHEA) is a unique collaboration of higher education institutions across the greater Dublin region funded by the Strategic innovation Fund Cycle 2There are four strands to the DRHEA 1) Enhancement of Learning 2) Graduate Education 3) Internationalisation4) Widening Participation
The DRHEA Graduate Education Strand aims to radically reposition the Dublin Region as an International Centre for Graduate , and in particular, doctoral Education by combining the strengths of the six participating institutions• Dublin City University • Dublin Institute of Technology • Institute of Technology, Tallaght • National University of Ireland, Maynooth • Trinity College Dublin • University College Dublin
The DRHEA Graduate Education Strand aims to deliver a general, cost-effective and scalable approach to inter-institutional graduate programmes, encompassing advanced taught courses as a platform for research, which will far exceed the potential of six individual institutions working separately.
Specific Goals of the DRHEA Graduate Education Strand • Provide discipline specific taught modules and Master Classes to doctoral students across the alliance • Provide the administrative infrastructure within and across the institutions to ensure student mobility and credit exchange • Establish inter institutional credit structure for students of DRHEA • Remove constraints on the development of graduate programmes across the DRHEA
DisciplinesA comprehensive range of advanced courses and master classes involving international experts are available to all PhD students in the DRHEA Graduate Education Strand in six disciplines Chemistry Economics Engineering Biomedical Science Politics/Sociology/Public Policy Physics
