The World at our Fingertips • Technology is a powerful ally… • Provides unlimited information in our areas • Creates awareness for CCI Greenheart • Connects us to potential HFs • But we as LCs make placements happen • At least two-thirds of placements are from direct networking with host families • We personalize the hosting experience

  5. What technology are we using to help find HFs? (internet, TV, radio, etc.) • What new creative ideas do we have using technology? (feature story in local online paper) • Group A: focus on social media • Group B: focus on community involvement Let’s Share Ideas

Using Technology School e-blasts with student profile Linked-in Meet-up (meetup.com) Facebook: use status with your network Facebook page for Summer group w/photos, tags Facebook community, clubs pages CCI GH information on other sites (adoption, etc.) Radio show, newspaper with existing students Music clubs, ethnic restaurants Mardi Gras story

  7. What are some student-focused ideas? • Alfonso’s profile: • likes longboarding • plays the saxophone • plays soccer • allergic to cats • has 2 younger brothers and loves being the oldest in the family
