  3. Red deer (Cervuselaphus) Cervuselaphus (KokkinoElafi) lives in Rodopi and Parnitha It is the biggest vegetarian animal in Greece WWF protect those species

  4. ITALY European otter Scientific name: LutraLutra Size: Normally the European otter is 57 to 95 cm long, not counting the tail of 35 -45 cm. Its avarage weight is 7 to 12 kg. Look: The European otter is brown above and cream below. Otters have long, slim bodies and relatively short limbs, with webbed paws. Food: Its diet mainly consists of fish, but in winter otters eat also birds, insects, frogs, and sometimes small mammals. Behaviour: The European otters are strongly territorial living alone for the most part. Hunting mainly takes place at night , the day is usually spent in the European otter's holt (den) – usually a burrow or hollow tree on the riverbank.

  5. Passiflora Scientific name: Passiflora Size: The passion Flowers are mostly wines with some being shrubs. They can even rich 5 or 6 m. The flowers are made up of five petals and can be even 12-15 cm in diameter. Look: They have a unique structure with lively colours which attract bees and insets. Location: It can grow easily in the Mediterranean area and its name is connected to the Passion of Jesus Christ.

  6. THE NETHERLAND THE SEAL is a sea predator that is found in the sea in the North of the Netherlands which is called ‘de Waddenzee’(The Dutch Shallows). Earlier there were so many seals, that they got hunted. But in the twentieth century there were only a few thousands of them left. Another cause could be the water pollution. Now the seal is a protected species and since it has been protected the population has grown enormously.

  7. The beaver is the biggest rodent of Europe. Since the sixteenth century people have hunted the beavers because of their fur. They were almost extinct. Now they’re protected animals

ROMANIA Carpathian brown bear Ursus arctos • It is a big animal, that generally weight between 300 and 600 kilograms • Brown bears have thick fur, much appreciated, with two rows of hairs, ear and fluff. Although base color is brown, it has got large colour variations from red to almost black bears. Some specimens have white spots on the neck, sometimes forming a real collar, similar to the collared bear the Himalayas. Dentition is typical of omnivorous, with strong canines and molars rounded.

  9. Edelweiss (Leontopodiumalpinum Cass.) • It grows in meadows on limestone mountains, sunny slopes or cliffs. In Romania it grows in the Carpathians and was declared a natural monument in 1933 and protected. • In Romania the plant reaches only up to a height of 20 cm. • Inflorescence is clothed with hairy leaves, some bigger, some smaller and which take the form of stars

  10. SPAIN NIÑA DEL ASTRÁGALO Small butterfly that measures 28-34 mm. They fly on May and June. Males have their wings in clear blue with some red dots. Females have their wings in brown colour. The head is black, brilliant and retractable. In Madrid area we can find this kind of butterflies in Aranjuez, Campo Real and San Martin de la Vega.

  11. EL PLÁTANO PADRE It is a very high tree with a trunk that can be 13 m high. Its height can become 42 meters and the trunk perimeter 6,40 meters. It has been calculated that it is 225 years old.

  12. SWEDEN Eurasian lynx Size: The normal weight for a male lynx is 20-25 kg and the normal weight for a female is 16-20 kg. The eurasian lynx’s bodylenght is barely a meter. Looks: The eurasian lynx is a cat animal. It has a short tail and tassels on the ears. It has high legs but the hindlimbs are longer Food: The eurasian lynx eats meat. It mostly eats reindeer, deer and birds.

  13. HEPATICA Latin name: Hepatica nobilis. The hepatica is a decimeter high and are blue/violet. The hepatica is preservated. The hepatica uses ants to spred their seeds. The lilly of the valley is most common in the further south of Sweden but also grow further up north.

  14. TURKEY LYNX (FelisLynx) The lynx has a short tail and characteristic tufts of black hair on the tips of its ears; large, padded paws for walking on snow; and long whiskers on its face. Under its neck, It has a ruff which has black bars, is not very visible, and resembles a bow tie. Its body color varies from medium brown to goldish to beige-white, and is occasionally marked with dark brown spots, especially on the limbs. All species of lynx have white fur on their chests, bellies and on the insides of their legs, fur which is an extension of the chest and belly fur. Also, the lynx's coloring, fur length and paw size vary by its climate range.

  15. Sea turtle (Caretta caretta)Number of individuals all over the Mediterranean nesting female is around 2000 in Ekincik, Dalyan, Dalaman, Fethiye, Patara, Cirali, Alata, Tekirova, Belek, Kizilot, Demirtas, Gazipasa, Anamur, Göksu Delta, Steam Boiler, Akyatan and Samandağ.
