VMS to Windows Conversion Utilities • For users who have legacy VMS systems, Spirent provides several utilities for converting scenarios and truth motion files into SimGEN for Window’s compatible files • The utilities provided are: • VMS to Windows SimGEN scenario conversion • MOT to ASCII vehicle truth motion file conversion • SCM to ASCII spacecraft truth motion file conversion • All utilities must be run on the VMS SimGEN workstation Proprietary & Confidential—Page 2

VMS to Windows Scenario Conversion • This utilities takes existing VMS Alpha legacy scenarios and converts them into a compatible SimGEN for Windows scenario • Conversion is performed using the VMS_to_PC v2.07 utility • This utility is provided in a .zip format and must be copied into the GPS$TOOLS folder and unzipped ($unzip <filename>) • The user must be in the GPSSIM account • Do NOT try to convert the current VMS scenario selected • After conversion, the Windows files must be copied off the VMS Alpha and renamed to remove revision numbers • Example: my_scenario.scn;1 renamed to my_scenario.scn • A description of using this utility is provided in the SimGEN for Windows User Manual, Appendix H.5 Proprietary & Confidential—Page 3

VMS to Windows Scenario Conversion (cont.) • Additional information: • It does NOT convert a Land Vehicle motion command file that uses waypoints • User generated motion files, MOT for example, will not be converted with the scenario • Other utilities are necessary for performing this conversion • Spirent provides the FTP utility, ‘FileZilla’ on the SimGEN controller and this can be used to copy the scenario(s) from the workstation Proprietary & Confidential—Page 4

VMS to Windows Truth Motion Conversion • To convert the VMS truth motion files into Windows compatible files, two utilities are provided on the VMS Alpha for performing this • MOT_to_ASCII • This converts all scenario truth motion files except the spacecraft motion file • SCM_to_ASCII • This converts the spacecraft truth motion files • Example: $run GPS$TOOLS SCM_TO_ASCII_$T193.EXE;1 Proprietary & Confidential—Page 5
