Twin Church / South Sioux City Area • Explosive Load Growth Due to Industrial Plant Expansions and Many New Industrial Plants Being Developed • Continued Conversion Of Irrigation Wells From Diesel to Electric Power • SubTransmission Capacity No Longer Able To Serve And Back up The New Projected Loads In This Area • Single Contingency Voltage & Thermal Violations On The Transmission System
Twin Church / South Sioux City Area Transmission Expansion Plan • Build Two New 115 kV Transmission Lines From Twin Church Substation to New South Sioux City Substation Forming a 115 kV Ring Configuration Around the City • Build New South Sioux City 115/69 kV Substation And Shift Load From Twin Church to New Substation • Re-Build Twin Church 115 kV Substation To A Breaker-and-a-half Configuration To Accommodate New 115 kV Expansion • If Loads Continue To Grow, Future Plans Are To Build A New Homer 345/115 kV Substation And Two New 115 kV Lines To South Sioux City And Emerson
