Important Dates Dec 4 & 7 – Georgetown Tournament Jan 10 & 11 – Stephenville A Tournament Jan 24 & 25 – Stephenville B Tournament
Practice Schedule Everyone is from 7:00-7:50 am. Drop off at the back of the school – the teacher’s parking lot (off Regal Rd.) After school practices – A teams – January 9 & 10, 2014 – 3:35 – 5:00pm B teams – January 22 & 23, 2014 – 3:35 – 5:00 pm
EQUIPMENT INFORMATION • YOUR DAUGTHER WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE FOLLOWING: • A basketball reversible • A basketball uniform – 7th & 8th graders will need to wash their own – Wash with cold water – DO NOT DRY • This equipment is property of MISD and must be returned. Your daughter will be required to replace any lost or damaged equipment per MISD policy
EXPECTATIONS OF PLAYERS • Pass all classes every six weeks • Be on time with all equipment • Be respectful to coaches, administrators, and teachers • Be a good teammate • Focus and Hustle • Be coach-able • Follow all MISD policies • Contact us when they will not be here
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE COACHES • To make decisions that are best for the team/program • To be honest with you and your daughter • To discipline your daughter and hold her to a very high standard • To help develop your daughter physically, mentally, and emotionally • To teach your son/daughter life lessons through athletics
PARENT/COACH RELATIONSHIPS AT MIDWAY Understanding and respecting the position of both parents and coaches will help enhance the athletic experience for our athletes.
Appropriate Concerns to Discuss with the Coach • The coach’s interaction with your daughter • How the coach can help your daughter become a better athlete and student • Concerns about your daughter’s interactions with others

For a Conference Call Coach Lazaroff to set up an appointment Conferences may include other coaches or administrators Please do not attempt to confront a coach after a game or practice. Emotions are running too high and will not result in a positive resolution
Parent Code of Conduct • Love and support your child and the team, win or lose • Be realistic about your child’s abilities • Be positive and encouraging at all times • Do not come to the court to during a game to talk to your daughter • Respect the coach’s decisions and encourage others to do the same • Realize that we are in this together!
Sport Specific Policies/Procedures Include: Food Drop Off procedure, remember no food is to be dropped off at the front office Parents taking athletes home from away contests – sign out sheet procedure – MUST be signed out by parent ONLY
7th Grade B Team Rotation – In order to keep more athletes in the program and still develop players, we are having a set of players rotate in the B games. These athletes will be decided on by the basketball coaches and told who they are after the scrimmage. This will be a total of 6 athletes, in two groups of 3. Each of these groups of players will play in both scrimmages, 4 district games (2 home & 2 away), and 1 tournament.
