SCHEDULES • Varsityand J.V. schedules posted on Baseball Website • Tournament Brackets will be posted for both teams on Baseball Website • Schedule changes will be posted to the Baseball Website ASAP
IMPORTANT DATES November 14th-18th - Tryouts November 20th- Team selection November 21st– Player Meeting January 6th -First Day of Practice with Throwing January 27th - First Day of Full Practice February 18th – First Varsity/J.V. Game vs. Isabella

IN SEASON PRACTICE SCHEDULE VARSITY Will practice M-F from 3:30 – 5:30 pm JV Will practice M-F from 3:30-5:30 and Thurs. 5:30- 6:30 pm NOTES: Please pick players up at the high school field after practice Please stay in stands if you want to watch practice
EQUIPMENT INFORMATION Cap – $20.00, Payable to the Cougars Booster Club Practice Pants – Grey or White (provided by your son) Cleats Metal or Rubber Tennis Shoes or Turf Shoes – Players need to keep flat shoes in case we have to go inside for practice or run on the track
EXPECTATIONS OF PLAYERS • Pass all classes every 9weeks • Be on time with all equipment • Be respectful to coaches, administrators, teachers, opponents, and umpires • Be a good teammate • Focus and Hustle all the time • Be coach-able • Take care of your arm • Follow all Coosa School District Policies • Call coach when unable to show for practice or game
Player Goals • Become active in the community with baseball • Older players become mentors to the younger players • Work with the elementary school kids • Become competitive so coaches can introduce students to colleges • Obtain a good work ethic • Understand meaning of team and teamwork
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE COACHES • To make decisions that are best for the team/program • To be honest with you and your son • To discipline your son and hold him to a very high standard • To help develop your son physically, mentally, and emotionally • To teach your son life lessons through the game of baseball
PARENT/COACH RELATIONSHIPS Understanding and respecting the position of both parents and coaches will help enhance the athletic experience for our athletes.
APPROPRIATE CONCERNS TO DISCUSS WITH A COACH • The coach’s interaction with your son • How the coach can help your son become a better athlete and student • Concerns about your son’s interactions with others

FOR A CONFERENCE Call Coach Stover to set up an appointment at 256-401-3528 Others who will attend: Player, position/team coach, administrator (if deemed necessary by Coach Stover) Please do not attempt to confront a coach after a game or practice. Emotions are running too high and will not result in a positive resolution
PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT • Love and support your child and the team, win or lose • Be realistic about your child’s abilities • Be positive and encouraging at all times • Do not come to the fence, dugout, or on deck circle during a game to talk to your son. • Respect the coach’s decisions and encourage others to do the same • Realize that we are in this together • Do not disrespect the umpires at anytime

Extracurricular Discipline Management Absence Policy
MISC. Policies Practice: Players will come directly to the field and be ready to start practice at 3:30PM Lockers: It is the player’s responsibility to secure all their items prior to starting practice. Caps – Players will never wear their Coosa cap backwards Uniforms– Players will look presentable at all times. Uniform shirts will be tucked in and only tennis shoes, sliders or cleats are allowed to be worn when in uniform
MISC. Policies Uniforms –Players will turn in pants and jersey after each game to be cleaned Away Games – Players can ride home with their parents only. Parents must sign them out with the coach – players need to bring a change of clothes so they can turn in their uniforms. Practice Attire – Wear athletic attire that is issued or bought
